Join us for the Beach City Writers Conference 2026, where creativity meets community!
Dockweiler Youth Center, University of Southern California and Sims Library of Poetry
June 26-28, 2026

Welcome to the Beach City Writers Conference!

The Beach City Writers Conference is a gathering place for writers, poets, educators, publishers, students, alumni, and people who love poetry!

Hosted by Community Literature Initiative, our annual Beach City Writers Conference brings our community together for a weekend of workshops, panels, lectures, performances, conversations, and connection. It is a place to grow as a writer, meet other literary voices, and celebrate the stories that shape us.
Our work is influenced by our communities, our experiences, the places we come from, and the world around us. This conference creates space for writers to learn, reflect, share, and be inspired.
One of the most exciting parts of BCWC is our annual Author Draft, where emerging poets pitch their manuscripts to presses and publishing professionals. It is a powerful opportunity for writers to be seen, heard, and considered for publication.
Whether you are just beginning your writing journey or have been writing for years, there is a place for you at our Beach City Writers Conference.
Come learn with us. Connect with us. Create with us.

Where Great Minds Reunite
Lectures. Networking. Workshops. Opportunity.
